Kelli Catterton – $1,000
We have awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Ms. Kelli Catterton.
Ms. Catterton graduated early last December and will also pursue a Nursing career, specializing in neo-natal baby care in the Quad Cities area. She is an Honor Roll student who achieved a 3.4 GPA.
Ultimately, Ms. Catterton may pursue a career as a Physician’s Assistant or an OB/GYN medical doctor. Ms. Catterton is a single mother.
Special thanks go to Ray and Clara Henningfield Bulens for making possible the additional scholarship amount awarded to Ms. Catterton.

Hsee Paw – $500
Hsee Paw is also originally from Burma and also aspires to be a nurse. She is an Honor Roll student who has achieved a 3.1 GPA and plans to attend Blackhawk College or Scott Community College.
English is Ms. Paw’s 5th language. She was originally in the English Language Learner program at Rocky, but exited rapidly.
She is described as a team player, a hard worker and a kind soul. It is said her academic success has been outstanding.

Eh Paw – $500
Ms. Paw is an honor roll student, has achieved a 3.5 GPA and plans to attend Blackhawk College. Ms. Paw is originally from Burma and also is pursuing a Nursing career. She will graduate from Rocky with a Certified Nursing Assistant certification from Blackhawk College.
Her intent is to become an orthopedic surgical nurse in a local Quad Cities hospital.

Kasey McCracken – $500
Ms. McCracken has achieved a 3.1 GPA and is well on her way already to a career in Nursing. She has taken college credit in Nursing and in June will take her board test to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.
She is described as more than an ideal student, who has demonstrated outstanding leadership, both academically and clinically.

Michelle Burrell – $500
Ms. Burrell is an Honor Roll student and achieved a 3.2 GPA. She plans to attend Western Illinois University. Ms. Burrell plans to pursue a career in accounting and financial planning, with a goal of helping others achieve their financial goals.
Ms. Burrell has been inspired by a 5th grade teacher who made her promise to stay away from the wrong crowd and always work hard in school. Ms. Burrell states she thinks of that promise every day.

Marcellus Angel – $500
Mr. Angel is an Honor Roll student who has achieved a 3.1 GPA and was named Thespian of the Year. He plans to attend Western Illinois University.
Mr. Angel plans to someday open a youth center for teenagers where he can assist young people with their future life aspirations.
Mr. Angel is described as a person with a strong desire to serve, to learn and to achieve. He is known as a team player who can be counted on for his dedication and integrity.

Ivy Anderson – $500
Ms. Anderson achieved a 3.3 GPA and plans to attend Blackhawk College. She has been on the Honor Roll all four years at Rocky and received a Western Big 6 Academic Award.
Ms. Anderson plans to pursue a career in Nursing, and hopes to give back to her community through hard work, dedication and perseverance.
She is described as a person with the ability to succeed in rigorous academic work, and is very effective in communicating with diverse groups of people.

Tabarek Al-Oraifi – $500
Ms. Al-Oraifi also emigrated with her family from Iraq, where her family was in constant danger because her father worked with the U.S. Army. She has achieved a 3.1 GPA and also plans to attend Blackhawk College.
She also hopes to pursue a dentistry career, and is described as an amazing individual who is honest, caring and responsible, and who helps others who are in the position she once was as new to the U.S.

Ritaj Algburi – $500
Ms. Algburi emigrated with her family to the U.S. from Iraq. She has achieved a 3.4 GPA and plans to attend Blackhawk College.
She hopes to pursue a career in dentistry and is described as an outstanding student and a top English Language Learner. She is known as a leader who leads by example and sets very high standards for herself.
